A small recording surface. Provider setup in Settings. A clear outcome every time. These are interactive design mockups with synthetic entries, not a live microphone or connected app.

Tap ■ on any phone to step through its flow. The sound preview plays two brief tones; waveform motion is illustrative.

One voice feature, out of the way.

All three retain the app’s warm paper and amber palette. While speaking: a level-responsive waveform, elapsed time, Cancel and Stop. No transcript editor, credentials, model IDs or timing diagnostics. A quiet start/stop cue and haptics confirm capture; the text and controls remain usable without sound.

Make outcomes unmistakable.

  • Listening → Processing → Saved. Only a completed local save earns the checkmark.
  • Needs a detail: keep the request and show the missing field. Don’t make the user dictate everything again.
  • Couldn’t save: explain the reason, keep the text, offer Retry or Edit. Never silently disappear.
  • Undo: keep the latest receipt accessible from Today after the compact notice goes away.

In the app, this opens the retained transcript for correction before retrying. No new dictation is needed.
